Private bookings of existing paid walking tours, groups of 7 or more, and custom tours of other lengths are quoted separately.
The same group rate applies to 1–6 guests, including solo travelers. Children and infants count toward the total group size, and there is no separate child rate.
A 10% seasonal surcharge applies to all private tours during the following periods:
- March 1–June 30
- September 1–November 30
- December 27–January 5
Prices cover guide services only. Transportation costs for guests and the guide, food and drinks, and admission fees are paid separately by the group. We’ll confirm the final price by email before payment.

Can the itinerary be customized?
Yes. For a custom private tour, tell us the places and themes that interest you and your preferred pace. We’ll propose an itinerary for the time available. Private bookings of existing paid walking tours follow the tour’s listed itinerary.
Can I request a different tour length or start time?
Yes. Four and eight hours are our standard custom-tour options, but you can request another duration or start time. We’ll confirm guide availability and pricing by email. Private bookings of existing paid walking tours follow each tour’s listed duration.
Where does the tour start and end?
For custom tours, we’ll agree on the meeting point and final stop by email. Your guide can meet you at your accommodation in central Tokyo on request. This is a meeting with your guide, not a private vehicle service.
Private bookings of existing paid walking tours normally use the tour’s published meeting point and end point.
What if I arrive late?
Please arrive 5 minutes before the confirmed start time. Your guide will wait no more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your booking will be canceled as a no-show. The cancellation and refund conditions in our Terms & Conditions apply.
What should I bring, and will the tour run in the rain?
Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, sunscreen, a hat or cap, and an umbrella or raincoat when needed.
Tours normally run in the rain. If we cancel, we will notify you at the email address used for your booking.
What languages are available for private tours?
Private tours are available in English and Spanish. Other languages may be available on request; we’ll confirm availability by email.
Can solo travelers and families book a private tour?
Yes. Solo travelers, families, children, and infants are welcome. Custom-tour rates cover a group of 1–6 guests, including children and infants, and there is no separate child rate. Groups of 7 or more receive a custom quote.
What is included in the price?
The price covers guide services only. Transportation costs for guests and the guide, food and drinks, and admission fees are paid separately by the group.
We do not arrange private vehicles, purchase tickets, or make restaurant reservations.
How do I book a private tour?
Submit the inquiry form with your preferred date, start time, group size, tour type, language, and interests. We’ll confirm availability and agree on the itinerary and price by email, then send payment instructions. Your booking is confirmed after full payment.
What are the cancellation terms?
Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time and no-shows are non-refundable.
Please cancel through the app or by email at info@tokyolocalized.com. The cancellation time is when you complete the cancellation in the app or when we receive your email. All times are in Japan Standard Time (JST).
Private tours generally cannot be rescheduled. Please submit any change requests through the app or by email.
