Maneki-neko Painting Workshop in Asakusa

Can children join the experience?

Yes. Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Children aged 4 and under may attend free of charge if they do not participate in the painting activity. A child ticket is required for each child who will paint and receive a maneki-neko figurine. 
 

How long does the experience take?

The workshop lasts approximately 1 hour and is limited to a maximum of 4 participants. It is conducted in English, and advance booking is required. Please arrive on time. We can wait no more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time; arrivals later than this are treated as no-shows.

Do I need any previous painting experience?

No. Beginners and all skill levels are welcome. Your English-speaking host will be available to help while you decorate your maneki-neko using colorful paint pens.

Is this a good activity in bad weather?

Yes. The workshop is held indoors at Tokyo Tourist Lounge Asakusa and normally goes ahead in rainy weather. If we cancel the experience, we will notify you using the email address provided with your booking.

What is included in the experience price?

The price includes one maneki-neko figurine per participating guest, colorful paint pens, all required decorating materials, and guidance from an English-speaking host. Your completed maneki-neko is yours to take home

Can I take my maneki-neko home the same day?

Yes. You can take your completed maneki-neko home immediately after the workshop.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code. We recommend wearing clothes that you do not mind getting a little paint on.

How do I cancel or change my booking?

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time and no-shows are non-refundable.
