What Is the Best Month to Go to Japan?

The best months to go to Japan are between March and May and between September and November. These are warm and dry months. There are seasonal events as well that come along with these months.

If you are looking to witness cherry blossoms blooming and flowering in Japan, the best time would be between mid-March to early April first week is the best time. Cherry blossoms wither fast (they last for about 14 days only), so watch out for cherry blossom forecasts as early as January or February. May is also a great time with stable weather of around 18-25 degrees Celsius, plus the fresh green leaves around.

If you want to experience the crimson leaves and perfect weather, it’s best to go to Japan in autumn around October to early December. Around this time, tree leaves transition from lively colors to vivid hues of red, yellow, and orange. The weather is temperate, perfect for outdoor walks.

No matter what month you visit Japan, you can never go wrong honestly. Japan is worth visiting all year round. Even if you visit in the “off-season,” there’s so much to enjoy in Japan. Spring and autumn might be the best, but you will definitely still enjoy the festivals in summer and skiing in winter. Each season is different!
