Toyosu Sushi Guide: Where to Eat Sushi at Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo

Toyosu Market is a 40.7-hectare fish market composed of three interlinked buildings. Two buildings are dedicated to wholesale seafood and the other one is for fruits and veggies.


Considered the largest fish market in the world, Toyosu Market sits on top of the reclamation island in Koto City. This is already the new location of what was known as Tsukiji Market.



Do note that most restaurants at Toyosu Market are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays since the fish market is closed too. In addition, many of these restaurants also open around 6 AM when the market opens and close around 2 PM when the market closes.

Serving locals and foreign sushi lovers since its store at Tsukiji Fish Market, Sushi-dokoro Okame is one of the most popular sushi restaurants at Toyosu Fish Market. Located near the tuna auction visitor center, it’s pretty accessible after watching the event.

If you’re looking for authentic and high-quality sushi, Ichiba sushi is the way to go. Located in the same building as the tuna auction, this restaurant serves an omakase sushi course that includes a bunch of other fresh seafood such as sea urchin, conger eel, and salmon roe.

3. Daiwa Sushi


From the tuna auction building, you can access Daiwa Sushi on the second floor of the Tsukemono-Keiran building through the bridge. This restaurant is one of the most popular sushi in Tokyo, not just the market. We won’t even describe it. Just see for yourself!
